A little bit of history: McIlwraith State School was opened in 1934, seeing our 75th Jubilee celebrated in 2009. The school was named after Sir Thomas McIlwraith, a past dominant figure of colonial politics in Queensland.
Here at McIlwraith State School we prepare students for a useful, satisfying and productive life as a member of society. Our school provides a safe, tolerant and disciplined environment for students and staff members.
Our vision is for everyone at McIlwraith State School to be treated with respect and dignity, allowing them to participate in an environment where they feel safe, supported and valued, so that all stakeholders are able to learn and teach effectively and productively.
